I know a a bit about the batch language and it has come to my attention that it's not really a "known" language. Meaning not many people know it. For say I was to ask a question on Java or C++, I'd have an answer in about 5 minutes. But with batch, usually people would take a while to get you an answer. So I'd like to share some of my knowledge with you guys. ANYWAY ;)

Bullshit.

Linux uses BASH - That's what it's shell is called. Not batch or what ever you want to call it. They're diffrent.
You can't run a .bat file on a Linux OS,

1, Because .bat isn't a reconised file type.
2, BASH and Batch just are not the same.

Wrong.

Bash & Batch are the same thing. They both can complete the same tasks, just on different OS using different commands.

They are both shell scripts.

I think he means the syntaxes, Danny.

Of course, BATCH was made when machine language was still being studied (more prominently than today), and BASH was made... just to be a batch language for linux? (I don't know, I also think it looks like C/C++/etc...)

P.S. You forgot COLOR!

It's useless, but if you need to show errors and the such while grabbing th user's attention, use COLOR.

Too see all the COLORs available, just run "COLOR /?" without quotes in the Windows command prompt.
